To DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Copy to Gd. " " WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} " " HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ✓ " " RV. ORIGINAL. 2 E6/G16/9/21. X.4228 RE 'GOSHAWK II' CARBURETTOR. We send herewith drawing No. LeC. 1448 giving particulars of the larger float chamber which we shall use for 'Goshawk II' carburettor. The quantities for this have been worked out, and are given on the drawing. LeC. 1448 also shows the petrol strainer revised to suit the larger float chamber. In view of Mr. Hives' report concerning the difficulty of making a joint, it is intended that the cover of the strainer shall have a ground joint with a flat face. The objection Mr. Royce has to the curved faces shown on the model brought by Mr. Hives to West WitteringHenry Royce's home town is that when these are once out of order they are difficult to get right.
