X4222 RE "GOSHAWK II" CRANKSHAFT. X4221 Would you kindly note Mr. Royce would like you to load up the "Goshawk II" crankshaft torsionally with its full normal torque of 1450 lbs. incs., and tell us how much it deflects. We want this information to determine the movement we shall allow in the new spring drive. We should also like to have the exact particulars of the driving springs you are now using for "Goshawk II" spring drives, and also exact particulars of the damping springs, and how many of these latter. The design of the new spring drive is practically ready, and we expect to send it at the beginning of next week. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} [Signature] [Footer] H H 282.
