a thicker bush for the boss of the upper of the two control levers. The base of the switch itself is exactly like Goshawk.

The other problem in connection with this job is getting the wires down the tube, and we have already written you on this subject, though we believe that a definite conclusion was not come to. We think it is a matter for you to investigate whether you can get 2 wires either separately or combined into a cable which will fit into this rather small tube. Mr. Royce does not wish to use a single wire, and consequently we think we must try very hard to get 2 wires down.

There is another item (6) which has been passed on to us from Mr. Elliott, namely, the control of the radiator shutters. What we should like you to do is to use exactly the Goshawk fittings in approximately the position now standard on Goshawk. In connection with this we ought to say that we do not expect the special instrument board recently designed to be on all of the six experimental cars. Five of them we expect will be fitted up in a manner very similar to Goshawk, subject to slight shiftings of the various instruments to suit the larger size of the 40/50., that is to say, the mixture and
