Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}22/V.18.8.39. "MR" Series - B.4.MR. Mileage 26,144. Rear Axle. We are sending you a driving shaft of the latest type axle which you will observe the splines have worn. This is the first case we have had of the "MR" series. The car came in for the same kind of driving dog rattle as is experienced with the old type driving shaft, the difference now being that the wear factor has taken place on the splines of the shaft instead of the driving dog. The condition of the splines do not look as bad now as when the driving dog was forced off, as the edges were burred up badly. The driving dog was not in a bad condition, and was refitted. The inner splines were worn slightly vee shape. The outer splines and hub splines were in a very good condition. GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} | ||
