HOD To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} Roy{Sir Henry Royce}/Les.{Ivan A. Leslie} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} & BY/NS.{Norman Scott} From RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}/G.Mc. BENTLEY V.{VIENNA} No mention is made in the minutes of the conference held 25.1.39. that the decision, "to hold up all parts which were affected by the change of Gearbox" would make it impossible to deliver the Bentley V.{VIENNA} Chassis to Sales by July. When this point was raised, Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} referred to a memo' in which he had stated the Release would be given in March for Production, the question of Experimental Production being overlooked. This should have followed Wraith practice. The position as BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} pointed out would be somewhat relieved as the Coachbuilders were proceeding to build the Bodies at the same time as the Chassis were going forward, leaving only the Fitting and Final Finishing to be completed after receipt of the Chassis.
