Dear Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer},

With further reference to the set of Champion sparking plugs which you gave me for Professor Dodds' Bentley. I am afraid I have not had much luck with these since, after running for about 250 miles, he returned them with the remark that they were considerably worse than the standard mica ones he had used and also he could not start the engine one morning due to flooding and wet plugs.

So you will see that I have been no more successful with him than you have! But in desperation I have given him a set of the older wrapped mica K.L.G. plugs which you used to fit, and I am now awaiting events and will advise you in due course what he says about them.

I am returning the 6 Champion plugs under separate cover for your examination. I have not touched these in any way.

Many thanks for the Christmas card which amused me very much. I thought about adding a bit on fuels, with apologies to yourself, but I thought you might have some "come-back" on me so I have remained silent on the matter!

Can you tell me how your further plug tests are progressing with the Bentley?

With kindest regards and all the best for the New Year,

Yours sincerely,
Rod Banks
