Report No.W.51.

I can assure you that the Depots are not blaming the bearings for every noise in the engine, as a matter of fact they do everything before taking an engine down for knock. The small amount of slack reported in the report No.W.51 is probably misleading. I take it that they mean the shims had to be sunk .002" and .003". This would very likely mean that a total bearing clearance would be in the region of .011 and would cause a knock.
