B.178.KT - H.J.DOWLER. STEERING COLUMN TIGHTENING UP. The Steering Column returned from the above chassis has been examined and nothing could be found which would account for the stiffness. The worm and nut has been reassembled in the Steering Column and fitted to another chassis. All Steering nut and worm assemblies are checked for efficiency by an Inspector before being fitted to Steering Boxes. No complaint respecting this column was received from the Test Department during road test, and under the foregoing circumstances we cannot agree the column was other than satisfactory at the time of despatch on 30/7/37.
