Instruction for modifying the Phantom III gearbox by shortening the inner synchromesh cones.

Will you kindly instruct that the top, 3rd and 2nd speed inner synchromesh cones are shortened by .025", which is to be removed from the large end. The object of this modification is to remove all possibility of a ridge being formed on the inner cone by the edge of the outer cone by making the inner cone pass right inside the outer cone even when the dimensions are on the extreme limits unfavourable to this. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/CWH has had an instance of a ridge forming with bad effect on the synchromesh action. E/HDY.{William Hardy} | ||
