Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd.,
DERBY.

For the attention of Mr. Hives.

Dear Sirs,

We have completed our examination of the samples of deposit which the writer removed from the engine which had been running on Castrol "XL", but as Mr. Rowbotham was rather anxious to know whether we considered the oil had been running at too high a temperature, we do not wish to give our opinion unless we feel quite satisfied that our evidence will lead us to any conclusion. Perhaps therefore, you would be a little tolerant in not expecting our report for a few days.

Yours faithfully,
C. C. WAKEFIELD & Co. LIMITED.

E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} A.{Mr Adams} Evans
CHIEF CHEMIST.
