Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} These complaints were discussed and investigated with and that the modifications carried out on the Depot Sheets issued were very satisfactory. Detail faults with production assembly by the makers were also discussed with Mr. Fisher, who requested Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} to send the next case occuring direct, for the attention of either Messrs. Turner or Palmer. This is now possible, as Cricklewood and Derby depots have carburetters in stock for replacement. The following is a detailed list of complaints with modifications for same on all models. 30 H.P. (1) Choke valve sticking. Reduced spindle bearings and clamp bolt fitted at right angle to spindle. Backfire distorting choke butterfly. (2) Throttle sticking due to brass pump piston. Fit gauze filter Ph.III type replenishing valve and leather cup piston. (3) Dirt in floatchamber. (4) Poor idling and spitting in exhaust on over-run. Modify to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}467 at makers. WRAITH UII. (1) E.CD.648 incorporated on first production chassis. Thicker butterfly and spindle being produced by makers and adopted relative to stock. (2) Leather cup piston and gauze filter valve incorporated on first production chassis. (3) 100 mesh filter fitted at needle seat on first production chassis. (4) Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}467 incorporated on first chassis Continued. | ||
