GOSHAWK 11. REAR SHOCK ABSORBER. X4329

We send you herewith N.sch. 1252 shewing the proposed modifications to the rear shock absorber to pre-vent toggling, and also shewing the new connecting rod on the lines of the 40/50. It will be seen that the latter is exactly like the front connecting rod except for the length, but we have had to shorten the ends and reduce the width of the boss for carrying the lubricator in order to get the lubricator in, and we suggest that these modifications should also be carried out on the front rod.

We do not think that the lubricator is any more accessible than the position on N.sch. 1230, but we presume the objection to the latter is that it lubricat-es one ball more than the other.

It will be seen that the minimum between the rod and the lever at the maximum possible position of the spring is 40° which will prevent the possibility of togg-ling. This angle of 40° also assumes that the connecting rod is 1/4" too short owing to the wrong rod being used in error.

On N.Sch. 1230 we gave you 3 lengths to provide for the various springs. We are not sure this is enough but we are giving it you again, and we should be glad if
