you would tell us if you find that it is inadequate or could be improved in any way.

Though we believe that these modifications overcome the objections of the shock absorber as it now is, we have a further suggestion namely, that the rod should be coupled the other way up, which still further reduces the possibility of toggling, and has the advantage that it is independent of the thickness of spring. We are sending a rough scheme of this with a view to its being tried experimentally if thought worth while.
