HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} EFC. FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} (At Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence.) SECRET R2/M6.1.29. REC'D AT WW. 9. 1. 29. C-to-SS.{S. Smith} WOR{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} SS.{S. Smith} GREEN LAMP SCHEME. X4640 I agree to defer this: it has nothing specially to do with this chassis, and can be applied any time it is convenient. It is only advisable and important because it would save the accumulator, save the loss of water from the battery, and tell the driver that he had a charge. You will remember I feared the harm it might do if it controlled the charge, so only made it into an indicator, but at present it does not seem to do this satisfactorily. I am not sure that it is worth its addition to the complication and cost, even if it is right, unless it is definitely needed to save the destruction of the battery. Anyway it can be left until it has proved its worth. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
