1235. (Experimental Dept.) Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}3/M 26th February, 1937. S. Bowrey Esq., Alexander Duckham & Co.Ltd., Holyport Road, Fulham, LONDON. S.W.6. Dear Mr. Bowrey, In reply to your letter of the 25th instant, I am very sorry to say that as yet we have been unable to carry out any comparative tests with the oils, NP1, 2 and 3 you submitted to us. A great deal of experimental work is being carried out with various types of bearing and until we have concluded these tests, we do not want to confuse the issue by the intoduction of a new oil. Next week we shall be able to let you have some comparative oil consumption figures, but with regard to wear, bearing condition and sludging, this will take some time to complete. We will, however, endeavour to get results for you as soon as possible. I am enclosing the R.A.S. Booklet; the article on Lubrication being very interesting and thank you very much for the loan of this. Yours sincerely, | ||
