1269 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std. 10/MH.{M. Huckerby} Messrs. Vauxhall Motors Ltd., Luton, Beds. 8th. October 1937. For the attention of Mr. A.W.Larking. Dear Sirs, We have received your letter of the 5th. inst., (together with enclosures) for which we thank you and are very impressed with the water pump bearings and gland layout shown on your water pump assembly drawing. So much so that we should like to try out the same scheme adapted to one of our pumps, using the actual bearing spindle and sealing ring gland assembly that are used in your design, we can very easily modify our casing, couplings, rotor etc. to suit as the dimensions are very similar. Would you be good enough to send us a pump shaft complete with bearings (1041446) together with a carbon ring 1041487 and peg 1041486. We are to-day sending you an official order for these pieces, including the gland assembly which you have already sent us. The writer understood Mr. Larking to say that the pump shaft and bearing unit were supplied complete by Messrs. Skefco - is this definitely the case ? We presume that the gland assembly pieces are made by yourselves, except for the rubber ring, which we would like to confirm as being Duprene. | ||
