10217? Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6/R.{Sir Henry Royce} 24th June, 1937. F.L. Manning, Esq., Messrs. Hooper & Co. (Coachbuilders) Ltd., 54, St.{Capt. P. R. Strong} James's Street, PICCADILLY, S.W.1. Dear Manning, Grylls has handed on to me your letter of June 23rd. It is very good of you to let us know about this car. I have suggested to Sidgreaves that we should try it if this can be arranged. I am afraid the 'fly in the ointment' will be the duty. I presume that this car has not got independent front suspension, which was being fitted to these 12-cylinder cars when I left America two months ago. An obsolete car of this size is, of course, of very little value, and, in consequence I do not think there is much chance of our purchasing it. Yours sincerely, | ||
