Visit to Borg & Beck - 21.5.41.

We should certainly obtain a sample clutch with a stiffer cover as on the Cadelac. We should also like to know how Borg & Beck, England, are supplying us with clutches having only .017 deflection cushioning, when the Parent Co., recommends .05.

We should carry out a careful comparison with these two degrees of cushioning and see if we can appreciate the difference. It may be that with thermoid lining, cushioning is not of such vital importance.

The real point that matters about the clutch is how much does the pedal come up in the car under normal driving conditions. Whatever movement there is, is definitely lost pedal travel.
