Handwritten note top left: Should like to look at these pieces as at present being supplied Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Handwritten note top right: F.J.H. Bentley Motors Ltd. Derby...........Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Showrooms (Sr is absent) EWPI3/MLG.16.3.35 Dear "Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}", "Sr" went down South last week on our demonstrator Bentley car, B-I-CW, which is fitted with the front bumper and had an unpleasant experience of finding that the chrome plated bar which is bolted on to the black bar which is fixed to the chassis came adrift and nearly fell off whilst travelling. Upon examination, it appears that the half inch nut which bolts the lead weights and chrome bar together had worked loose. We are therefore arranging to fit castellated nuts in future and splitpin them. We are letting you know this unofficially for your information as you might possibly have come up against this trouble. We have mentioned this matter officially to "Tr{Capt. F. W. Turner - Finance}". When shall we have the pleasure of seeing you over this way ? Yours sincerely, E W Peritt | ||
