Dear Mr. Robotham, Many thanks for your letter Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}1/ML dated 5th September, 1940 and also for the list of spares. I hope by now the question of proof is clear. All guns will be proved at Melton Mowbray whether made at your firm or B.U.S.M. After the third gun no further mountings should be sent to Melton Mowbray but only the gun complete with cradle. Any question regarding before proof, proof and after proof inspection should be referred to the Inspector of Naval Ordnance, C.M.L. Buildings, Great Charles Street, Birmingham.
