Re. GUN DELIVERIES

We have received the attached telegram from the Admiralty.

Since the first gun has gone to Hythe without shields we have either got to fit shields down there or replace it with a mounting on which the shields have been fitted and of which we approve.

We anticipate that the L.M.S. will deliver the second mounting, complete with shields, early next week and if these are satisfactory we recommend that this mounting is delivered to Hythe and the original mounting without shields is returned. This original mounting can then be sent unaltered to Melton Mowbray as per telegraphic instructions.

Attachment.
