COPY. M Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}10/AL. 5.8.40. The Director of Navy Contracts, Admiralty, B A T H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Dear Sir, With reference to your letter of the 20th July, which we return herewith. Whilst we are prepared to deal with the design of the armoured shield necessary for the Rolls-Royce 40 mm. gun, fitted to the Oerlikon mountings we are not in a position to undertake the manufacture of these shields. We should therefore be glad if you could arrange for them to be fabricated elsewhere. We have kept your drawing of the shield to form a basis for our design. Yours faithfully, For Rolls-Royce Ltd. | ||
