Bailey - Chief Engineer} ---- C12/C12.11.36 Re PRICES OIL - PHANTOM III. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6/9.11.36. --------- I am sorry to hear that a main filter has choked and collapsed, due to sludge, and, as you say, this is really a serious matter. We, of course, had not previously heard of any trouble except on the small filter in connection with the tappet adjustments and, as you know, we have had two or three instances now where, after once cleaning it has not happened again. However, it certainly appears that there is something wrong. We therefore propose, in the meantime advising against the use of this oil and I am arranging for their man in London, with whom we have dealt for many years, to come along to see the collapsed filter which I note you are sendinging to me. So far this has not come to hand. C. | ||
