RE REQUEST FOR 1 H.P. 3-PHASE MOTOR.

We have long felt the need of a small low voltage motor generator charging plant which shall be independent both of the main 110 volt Works D.C. supply and of our chassis dynamo test rigs, the former of which may at present sometimes have to be kept going for us alone and the latter of which are mainly in use for experimental dynamo tests.

For the generator portion an old type discarded 40/50 chassis dynamo is being used, suitably modified. The set is to be used in conjunction with our reservoir battery of large cells and as the power to run it is drawn directly from the shop power mains the saving in current by cutting out several transformations is considerable.

The need has recently become more acute on account of the fact that in connection with battery ignition contact point experiments we need to run 5 sets of ignition continuously, the load of which constitutes a big drain on our reservoir battery overnight, which must be replaced.
