Dear Sir,

We thank you for your letter of August 2nd.

As you point out, a great deal of our time is taken up with propositions relating to new inventions. It is our invariable practice to insist that inventors should produce working models of their devices before we take any interest in them. Under no circumstances whatever should we consider constructing such models for an inventor, nor would the working drawings be of any interest to us.

If and when a working model of the invention in question is available, we shall be interested to see it.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
