Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} SECRET. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}4/HP.12.2.35. c. Wer. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Idy. RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} SpectreCodename for Phantom III - Girling Brakes. Herewith is N. Sch.4359 which shews the layout of the linkage for the Girling rear brakes. We have eliminated the carrier levers on the axle, as far as possible, to simplify the linkage. The rebound stop requires modification as it does on the tangent screw adjustment brakes. We also send N. Sch.4364, which shews the intermediate levers on the sheet metal cross member revised in length to suit the Girling brake leverages. N.Sch's 4359 and 4364 herewith.
