To BJ. from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X3066 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/LG6.10.27. STANDARDISATION SHEETS. X3066 X.5240 X5280 With reference to BJ15/E5.10.27 and the 20 HP. modified controls for shutters and starter carburetter. The 20 HP. std. sheets for the new controls on the instrument board and mixture control on the column are inter-connected. They originated from the fact that when WW. designed the new 20 HP. radiator with the vertical shutters, it demanded a new type of control and they decided they would copy the Phantom scheme which meant that the shutter control and the starter carb. control was fixed as one unit on the instrument board. On the present 20 HP. the mixture control and starter carb. are one unit. This alteration meant that a fresh position had to be found for the mixture control for which it was decided to revert to the practice which has been standard on Silver Ghost and Phantom and that is to have the mixture control on the steering column. We would suggest that you get WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} to confirm the costs which are estimated to amount to an increase of £1000 per year. We doubt this figure.
