Phantom III Rear Brakes. We send herewith N.Sch.5031 showing modifications to the bell crank levers on the brake carrier plates to avoid the sharp corner which is at present produced by the machining on the boss. The right hand view shows how existing forgings are dealt with, and the left-hand view shows how we should like the forgings modified as soon as is practicable. The forging alteration consists only of the substitution of a rectangular section for the present elliptical section, and there should therefore not be any need for new dies. N.Sch.5031 herewith.
