RV ROY{Sir Henry Royce} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X496 EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}6/Hl6.1.28. re. F.11 and F.12 Ignition Plugs. Trouble having been experienced with the R.11. Champion Plugs in service, having discussed this matter with Rg.{Mr Rowledge} and Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} this morning, they informed me this type of plug should be changed for R.12, short type Champion Plug. In view of the engine failure we have had with the new Westland Wizard machine, owing to the above, it is important that we should attend to this matter as quickly as ever possible . Can arrangements be made therefore, for sufficient R.12 Champion Plugs, short type, to replace R.11 plugs on F.{Mr Friese} type engines. Will BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} please send instructions through covering this matter, as possibly trouble may be experienced in arranging for this to be done at the stations where the engines now are. It is particularly important that a complete set of plugs with, say, 1/2 dozen spares should be sent to our tester Smith at Messrs. Vickers, Weybridge at the earliest possible moment. Can ROY{Sir Henry Royce} please arrange for these to be sent direct from the makers to our man, in order to save time? EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} | ||
