1305. (Experimental Dept.) Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM{Anthony F. Martindale}1/R.{Sir Henry Royce} 8th September, 1938. Messrs. Metalastik Ltd., Evington Valley Road, LEICESTER. For the Attention of Mr. M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Goldschmidt. Your Ref: MG/CEG. Dear Sirs, The Vibrograph in question is that shown on pages 20 and 21 of the Askania catalogue which we return herewith. We have a gland on a shock damper which is made of synthetic rubber (Duprene) and which is intended to work like a 'Silentbloc' type bush. There is no room for metal sleeves and the rubber cannot be vulcanized to the inner shaft because of assembly. Do you know of any substance which would help the rubber to stick to the inner shaft ? Yours faithfully, For ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
