March 21st. 1944.

For the attention of Mr. C.W. Ward.

Dear Mr. Ward,

The question has recently been raised that the Christie-Tyler type of seat might be worth consideration for our future bodies. Personally I am a little doubtful if this seat will conform with our anticipated class of finish. However, to settle the question we are proposing to have a pair of these seats made up and tried out. I have been in touch with Christie and have arranged for them to make a pair of front seats that can be fitted to 12 BV, which you are now repairing. They have agreed to borrow the existing front seats for a short time and take all the necessary particulars to make up their own products, and we can then fit them to this car when they are ready.

Unfortunately they gave me very short notice of their proposed date to contact yourselves. I have been on the telephone to Mr. Giles in your absence, and told him the story and asked him if he could make arrangements at your end.

Christie will return the original seats to you in time for the car delivery, and I will arrange for their seats to be delivered to Clan when completed. We shall apply them to either 12 BV. or a similar car and get some tests carried out.

For your information the Windscreen and hinges for the Myth are about completed, but the locks and window regulators will not be available for a few weeks.

If there is any information outstanding which you need for the prototype jobs please let me know.

Yours faithfully,
For Rolls-Royce Limited.
