For the attention of H.R. Buckland Esq.

Dear Sir,

We thank you for your letter of the 7th inst. ref. HRB/B, and beg to state that your Mr. Manwaring has visited the Works this afternoon and shown to us the speedometer in question.

We do not see any objection to the appearance of the speedometer with the new type of mileage indicator, but we regret to state that we cannot give full approval of such a speedometer until such times as we have carried out our own tests here. As mentioned to Mr. Manwaring, therefore, we should be glad if you would send to us a similar instrument calibrated for 838 revs per mile, and of the type you are now supplying for our 20/25 HP chassis. This will enable us to test the speedometer on the chassis as well as on our bench rigs.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
