Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gy/JLA X3806 Hotel de France Chateauroux Indre 1/3/29 We have completed the work this morning although hindered by the garage lights failing. These have now been made O.K. Every junction needs watching very carefully in assembling the Bijur system and if the plugs are put in systematically starting from those points nearest the pump, while the pipes are flushed with oil when open-ended; so that air is forced out of the pipe lines, any stoppage can easily be traced. This was actually the case on 19 EX when we found the pipe to the rear O/S spring shackle blocked by swarf. The pump promises to work satisfactorily & the pedal now takes a reasonable time to come back. If this reaches you in time could you please get more pivots through with reservoirs, like those for 21 EX & bring them across for 19 EX ? A N° O drip plug should be provisionally be fitted to the water pump on 21 EX until we get it in the frame, when we should use, if anything a N°3 and assist the arrival of oil by filling the pipe line with wire to take up the space. If you intend me stopping will you kindly send along my unfinished report which I can be getting on with at night. I shall be pleased to hear the result of Mr Pitt's visit & what shape the alterations to the drip plugs & banjo's take. Our aluminium washers for the banjo's are exhausted so will you please bring some over. Herewith a copy of a letter to By which I hope is explicit and also my expense sheet. T.
