Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gy/JLA 43806 Hotel de France Chateauroux Indre I arrived OK this morning and have now fixed up the new pump and stripped the old bijurs from the Chassis. We hope tomorrow to have fitted the new Bijurs which I collected from Mr Pitt and if we get the wing which is being repainted back in time we may be able to give the car a preliminary test before handing it over to you. I asked Mr Pitt to make a point of visiting Derby before the end of the week to discus the manufacture of the revised design of drip plug with Mr Bailey. I think this essential in that he is now asking for a 20% instead of a 10% limit on the drip plug flow. He points out that reaming in position is impossible with a closed end plug owing to the brass filings clogging the filter. We think it is worth while designing the job so that the hole can be reamed in position as it is admitted that the failure of the last consignment was due to faulty drilling. We can insist on our 10% limit and insure against distortion. Luvax also agree to revise their method peening over the brass retaining cap. We understand we all four are expected to meet you at Boulogne at the end of the week but we await a wire for further instructions. F.GAYE | ||
