To-Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}/HH. from Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} four copies. SECRET. File EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}3/11.1.40. RE RIPPLET FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING. P.L. 92. We confirm that we handed to you yesterday the original of P.L.92. shewing a provisional front engine mounting for the temporary engine unit No.3. which it is proposed to put in the Ripplet Chassis. All of the parts on the engine and the rubber are existing. We have completely detailed the arch bracket on the scheme to save time in getting it into the shops. A final scheme for the front support of the engine is almost complete. This entails a new cantilever offthe engine and new rubbers besides the sheet metal aren bracket. The rubber head will be common to all high front engine mounts throughout the range. The object of P.L.92. is to give the Works something to suit an existing engine which they can produce quickly.
