Date: 24 Oct 1913 To: Mr Royce Order No.: Customer's No.: X879 Re: New Front Anchorage for Rear Springs In response to your note R3/P15/013 re the above, I send 2 rough sketches of scheme. I prefer F4118, because it is approx. 1/2 lb a side lighter than F4119 & makes use of a common link pin. F4118 is about 1/2 lb a side lighter than the present type. I tried another scheme on the line of the central pivot of the rear springs, but it was so much heavier than these that I have not sent it. I have not provided any further frame support at the back because the sills are so intertwined with those of the cross member that it seemed sufficient.
