COPY OF LP{Mr Lappin}4 - 27.2.22. Py. SHELL-MEX. I have to-day seen Mr. Collingham of the above Company in regard to our testing Sheel lubricating oil, summary herewith. 1. Shell people are willing to pay total expense of a 100 hour test in Aero engine. 2. Wish car to be tested with this oil, willing to pay the expense of a 10,000 mile R.A.C. officially observed trial. 3. Willing to supply Derby works for their use this oil at 2/6 per gallon. 4. Will accept decision of Derby as final. If oil is not satisfactory, are willing to make every effort to produce an oil to suit requirements. 5. If we pass the oil as O.K. for Aero engines, Cars or both, they wish to be able to include our name in the list of manufacturers already using oil. I suggest Mr. Collingham accompanies me to Derby about the 7th. or 8th. March, so would you please put the matter before Rg.{Mr Rowledge}, and let me have his comments and if he agrees to the last suggestion. Sgd. W. Lappin. | ||
