CHANGEOVER OF PHANTOM III [Text 'FRONT BRAKE MECHANISM.' is crossed out] Further to RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}2/MJ.15.9.37, the time required for changing over the brake bell crank lever will be 16 hours per car, or TWO MEN ONE DAY. Therefore in order to handle the work expeditiously it would be advisable for two men to deal with each changeover. It is recommended that this work should be carried out at the various Depots and not at Owners' private houses. All materials will be supplied to Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} and he will arrange for the distribution of same. It is further recommended that Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}, Er., and other Depot officials should arrange for the changeovers to be effected at Owners' convenience and we will provide the additional labour necessary. It will be seen from our previous note that the whole of the Material for the 341 Chassis affected will be completed and handed over to the Repair Dept. for issue by the middle of October but the speed at which the changeovers can be dealt with is dependent upon the arrangements the various Depot officials can make with the Owners regarding the release of cars.
