Drilling high pressure valves on shock absorbers to cure knocks on 20 HP and 40/50 models.

Hallam - Head Repairs} that the high pressure valves on both the 20 HP. and 40/50 shock dampers are being drilled when they are repaired. We consider that this drilling should be confined to the 20 HP. valves until we have evidence that knocks on the 40/50 dampers persist after links have been fitted having the correct clearance. Up to the moment Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} has had no case of a 40/50 which could not be permanently cured without resorting to the drilled high pressure valve.
