1020 To HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}5/AP.4.12.36. BENTLEY BEARINGS. We want to try one set of Bentley main bearings, lined with 92% Magnolia Metal alloyed with 8% pure Tin. This is an American recommendation and should be bonded on to the steel by a 70 lead 30 tin solder. A fairly heavy lining of the material should be put in for being machined out.
