Dear Sirs,

Re Long Wheelbase Phantom III - 38-EX.
------------------------------------

We send herewith a print of LeC.5395 showing the 2¾" deep front apron which we would like fitted to the above car if you can do so without causing any delay. Since the body has not been promised for delivery for some little while we can only presume that the wings are not very far advanced. We would be glad if you would take and modify our existing front apron to the design shown on LeC.5395.

The starting handle bearing should be removed from the front cross member and a hole provided for it in the new apron in the position shown on the drawing. Should the forging on the cross member come in the way of the new apron, as we believe it will, we have no objection to you sawing it off. We shall fit a new cross member with the correct forging when the car is back in Derby.

We should be glad if you would let us know if you could do this, and at the same time give us a concrete date for the delivery of the body.

Yours faithfully,

For and on behalf of
ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.

Att: LeC.5395.
