With reference to the universal ring 2nd speed coupling to N.Sch.4824, we have been asked by Ws. whether the four lightening holes in the front end of the sliding piece G.64767, which are spaced 36° apart can be replaced by the six holes as on the original piece G.82905, in order that a jig alteration may be avoided. We think that the best way out of the difficulty is to delete the holes altogether as this will slightly increase the strength of the piece and reduce the cost. The increase of weight is only slight. Will you kindly instruct this alteration. E/HDY.{William Hardy} | ||
