Capacity: 30 a.h. at 10-hr. rate.

GENERAL.
The 12 volt accumulator is made up by housing three 4-volt ebonite boxes in an outer thin sheet steel container. The container is provided with a canvas carrying handle fixed by steel plates to the ends of the container. The cell lids are generally flat and the whole of the top is flooded over with sealing compound.

The intercell connectors are not unduly heavy and the end take-offs are split semi-circular clamps tightened up by two small nuts thus : [Drawing of a connector clamp]

External container dimensions 7" x 7" x 12 1/4" high.

4-volt CONTAINERS.
Internal dimensions - 5.29/32" wide x 1 7/8" long x 10 1/4" to rests with four rests 9/16" high.

PLATES PER CELL.
Four positives - 5 1/8" wide (measured on grown plates) x 4 1/8" high x 0.05" thick.
Five negatives - ditto

The grids are punched giving no key to the paste.
The paste pellets are particularly wide.
There was evidence of exceptional growths on the positive plate width so much so that the plates had extended to the full width of the box and all positive plates were badly corrugated as a result.

Plate pitch - 7/32".
