X7510 EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} [REDACTED] c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} [REDACTED] c. Worr [REDACTED] c. P. [REDACTED] PHANTOM II - AUTOVAC PETROL SUPPLY FAILURE. Referring to EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}5/H.8.3.30. Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} drew our attention to the fact that with the air pump apparently a leaky float would not clear itself of petrol. We immediately gave the matter attention, as we found upon examining the float which Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} supplied to us that the cover was at the bottom of the float body with a soldered joint running right round the body. We inverted the float and made theonly soldered joint in the whole piece round the extreme upper edge of the float itself. We therefore consider that this matter had been attended to, and the possibility of a float becoming petrol logged eliminated. The Autovac Co. promised to supply new type floats immediately, as per their letter of the 25th January, but I am informed that they have not kept to their promise, and are still supplying the old type of float. I am taking the matter up with them today, and insisting on the new type being supplied without further delay, also suggesting that existing floats are changed. RV | ||
