Thank you for your Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}5/MJ.10.8.33 and I am sorry to note the axle tube on the Bentley has been breaking. I can quite understand that you do not want Geoffrey Smith on this car at the present time and I will advise him accordingly.

Thanks for your offer to lend us the Open Car for a few days and I must consider this point. I was not looking at it from the point of view that I particularly wanted him to try the car, although I still think that a few amateurs' views would be valuable to us when the time is ripe to open ourselves out, as it were. But from the Geoffrey Smith point of view I was really looking at it from pure publicity later on in the obtaining of some good photographs of the car in the mountains. However, this is not by any means essential and there is plenty of time later on.
