To Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} from EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} v.{VIENNA} Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X7380 EE2/28.4.30. X.4613 X.7380 X.7260 SCUTTLE ISOLATION 38.500 DASH. PHANTOM II We send herewith N.Sch.3093, shewing the scuttle armature and the front end of the subframe for use with the 38.500" wide dashboard. The subframe is the Universal type, and on account of the narrowing of the dash from the original intended width of 41.500" it has been necessary to set the front end in towards the chassis frame, and modify the fixing for the scuttle armature pillar. We are intending to use this subframe and dashboard on 25-EX the second experimental car for R.R.A.I. the body for which is being built at Park Wards. It will be necessary that the subframe sent to them be to this drawing. We would be glad if you could confirm that the dimensions to the shape of the pot on the dash which we have given will be correct. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} has informed us that it is intended that the bonnet of this car shall pass over the top of the dash, If this is so we should have official notice as it will have an effect on the way we finish off our scuttle. As we are visiting Park Wards later this week we should like a wire from Derby by return confirming this so that we can instruct the alterations whilst we are there. We have had no official notice of this neither have we seen a design. If a drawing does exist we would find a copy of it very useful. Unless we have very definite instructions of what features will be on the chassis it is impossible for us to make a body which will fit it. EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
