-2- (2) Front Axles. All the evidence goes to show the failure of the front springs is brought about due to brake jaggers. It was agreed that with either Woodhead or Firth springs we should add an extra clip to reduce the risk of the top plate bending. The Experimental Dept. have on test a brake material which so far has prevented brake jaggers. It was agreed that a number of cars should be fitted up with this in order to confirm the results. For existing cars it was thought that if the results of the brake material are confirmed the risk of damaged front springs can be eliminated by changing the brake material; also the extra clip to the front springs. This brake material will also overcome the complaints of brake jaggers after the cars have been washed. It is expected that the Experimental Dept. will have an opportunity of confirming these results whilst the new front axles are being produced. (3) Carburetters Flooding and Pipes. A Bentley car has been fitted up with the modified float chambers and the petrol drain pipes and has been approved. 200 sets of the modified float chamber covers with the connections for drain pipes will be received from L.U. this week. The Works have to produce the additional drain pipes which are a part of this scheme. Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} promised that the Works would get the drawings for the pipes immediately. It was agreed that this changeover must be carried out on customers' cars as soon as the parts are available. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
