GEARBOX PROGRAMME.

A discussion was held between By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Hdy.{William Hardy} Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} re all-helical box. It was decided to persist with this box.

Chief troubles were -

(1) Rattles. Starting and running.

(2) Ineffective synchro for changing when in motion.

(3) Baulking when getting into second from rest.

It was decided to try the prop. shaft damper for (1), also variations on the clutch centre.

Mods G.B. 5123. Insert
G.B. 5124. Outer cone 2nd speed.
G.B. 5126. 1st speed driver
will be brought on 24 boxes if possible without scrap.
