1153 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}5/R.{Sir Henry Royce} 17th June, 1939. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} de Normanville, Esq., Ormidale, The Avenue, Hatch End, MIDDLESEX. PERSONAL. Dear Mr. de Normanville, Thank you for your letter of June 16th. I think we can re-assure you that you have not offended us in the way you suggest. As a technical individual, the discussion of royalties is always painful to me, and probably had you agreed to do exactly what General Motors are doing with regard to the synchromesh we should not have had to discuss this subject so fully. However, at the moment, the royalty is subsidiary to that of technical expediency, as I explained to you on your last visit. I hope we shall continue our cordial personal relations whatever the final decision with regard to transmissions may be. Yours sincerely, | ||
