| Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} C.E. E.P. C.M. X7910. EP {G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} 11/N14.2.30. re. EXHAUST HEATED THROTTLES. Although we are now accepting these on Production chassis, I do not think from a noise point of view they can be considered satisfactory. The chief objection to the noise is that now obtained when the engine is running under light load conditions, as demonstrated to you on a production chassis today. We are in the meantime proceeding with the job as we do not think the noise is so bad as to stop deliveries, but we certainly consider some action should be taken to improve the job in this respect, and if possible to embody the improvement on cars already delivered, if it can be applied quite simply. In any case we should be in a position to deal with complaints in regard to this point, which I anticipate we shall receive from customers who drive their cars under the conditions demonstrated.
